When you talk of laminators, one of the more prominent brands that you will encounter in your search is the GBC brand. And if you’re looking for a machine that can provide dependable commercial laminating capabilities without the bulk and heft of many commercial-grade machines, then one of the options that you can go for is the GBC HeatSeal H425 12.5-inch pouch laminator. The HeatSeal series is GBC’s line of thermal laminating equipment designed to work with thermal pouches as well as self-sealing films like the Avery Self Adhesive Laminating Sheets (using the cold setting— more on these below) which was previously featured here.
The GBC HeatSeal H425 is dubbed as a moderate-use commercial-grade laminator machine because it is equipped with a dependable 4-roller system designed to provide even and consistent lamination using suitable pouches with sizes of up to 12.5 inches (and 3 mil to 10 mil thickness). This means that it can accommodate the smaller business card size pouches, photo-size pouches up to the bigger letter-size pouches which makes it an ultra-versatile piece of office equipment; although it isn’t really equipped to handle high volume jobs as it only has a laminating speed of 15 inches per minute.
One of the nice things about this device is its variable temperature control (via a rotary knob control) and its LCD display that makes it very easy to use even for someone who hasn’t used such a machine before. It can also be set to a cold setting which instantly transforms it into a cold laminator machine that you can use to laminate heat-sensitive documents like photographic prints and the likes.
Other nifty features include the capability to shut down automatically if it remains unused after one hour and a reverse motor to help dislodge pouches that jam the roller system.
Its dimension is 8 x 22 x 5 inches and it weighs around 14 to 15 lbs.
