Laminator Machine Reviews

February 21st, 2010 Choosing GBC Laminating Machines: What You Need to Know

If you want to give your presentations a more attractive and professional look, then buying laminating machine is your best choice. Laminating keeps your valuable documents clean, crisp and it protects it to last virtually a lifetime.

At present there are various GBC laminating machines to choose from. The more popular choice is either a pouch laminator or a roll laminator.

Both types basically go hand in hand with your latest photo printer. Based on the hot roller technology, pouch laminators can laminate your printed photos and documents, encasing them in two sides of clear plastic called pouches. This ensures that your printed documents are protected and your photos looking like the day it was taken.

At present pouches can be bought at varying sizes. The most popular is the 80-250 micrometer pouch. But usually, if the machine can handle thicker pouch the higher its cost.

As for the maintenance of your pouch laminator, you can use a carrier. A carrier goes into the laminator along with the document that you are binding. This prevents any glue that may leak and get stuck on the rollers.

Roll laminating systems are more inclined to protecting blueprints, training manuals, certificates and posters. A roll laminator is basically the same as any other laminating devices. These uses heat to melt glue that is in the film to protect documents that are encased. The heated film rolls onto the rollers until it is fully bonded and the document protected from harm and debris.

The main advantage of choosing to use a roll laminator over office type pouch laminators is its speed. Heated rollers speed up the process of laminating by melting the glue quickly and applying it to the lamination film. Another advantage is that adhesives and other supplies for this type of laminator are relatively cheaper than other machines. This is because a roll machine is sort of an industrial machine rather than ordinary office equipment. Think of it like purchasing supplies in wholesale prices.

Always remember that when choosing equipment, study its features, advantages and disadvantages. Buying equipment that really cost some good money should be a good investment.
