March 14th, 2011 4.5” Pouch Laminator Machines from GBC, Teslin and Photo-Max
If your lamination needs only involve documents that do not go beyond 4 to 5 inches in width then you don’t need to buy a machine made for letter-sized (those with width of 8.5 inches or higher) as that would be an inefficient way to use your resources. If your business requires only a laminator machine that can work exclusively for standard-sized ID cards and small 4” photographic prints then you should seriously look into 4” pouch laminator machines that specifically intended for such a purpose.
Enumerated below are three photo and ID card laminator models produced by office equipment manufacturers GBC, Teslin and Photo-Max:

GBC HeatSeal H110 4.5-Inch Pouch Laminator – this is one of the top GBC laminators that I featured in a previous post. It is a handy machine to have if you usually work with ID cards and photos that have a maximum width of 4.5”. This GBC HeatSeal model can accommodate up to 10-mil thick HeatSeal laminating pouches and is capable of reaching optimal operating temperature in just 60 seconds. This model isn’t designed for high-volume, heavy-duty lamination jobs though as it can only process 6 inches per minute. The advantage of choosing this model is its price. It only costs about $48 on Amazon.
Teslin Pouch Laminator for ID Cards ButterFly Pouches – this machine is designed for relatively heavier lamination duties and is designed to work for ID card lamination (though it can also do photo prints). This works great if you will find a need to produce laminated type identification cards that may include a magnetic strip. This machine is designed to work with Teslin Cards which are basically the same as the PVC cards commonly used for credit cards. It needs to be laminated with suitable laminating material to make it more durable and tough. This laminator machine can work with up to 32 mils thick sheets and costs about $48 on Amazon.
Photo-Max Heavy-Duty ID Laminator Model PP-104 – this one is a heavy-duty model that can produce up to 400 credit card sized laminations per hour. This should be suitable for businesses that requires production of laminated ID cards of photographs on a relatively bigger scale. It can work with pouches of up to 15 mils thick.
